Years ago a city’s
populace was forced underground by chemical warfare. Drugged by the
totalitarian government and forced to become slaves, the working
masses started re-purifying the earth’s surface with shoddy,
antiquated equipment. Decades passed. Enter the present. The people
have no idea the chemicals are leaking down and slowly poisoning
them. As the population grows weaker they are disposed of and their
work areas are sealed off. No records of their deaths are kept. MOTHER
is about one small group of workers and their government Overseer
(the titular character, who is a religious figure as well as an administrator).
The character Mother faces a dilemma when it is time to kill her
flock. Does she obey the dictatorship or save the lives of those
she has sworn to protect?
